In the 1990s, I lived in an Art Commune within the Mitchell Building, part of the vibrant art scene in Deep Ellum, Dallas, Texas. The building was home to a diverse group of artists, including painters, sculptors, and musicians, all embracing a bohemian way of life. It was during this time that I became fascinated by the local metal sculptors, who scavenged metal scraps and transformed them into entirely new works of art. This sparked my own creative journey. Inspired by the idea of manipulating various 3D shapes, I set out to reconfigure them into four distinct facial facades. I aimed to capture the look of aged metal by giving the surfaces a weathered and patinated finish.
